About the event
Join the Three Shores CISMA as we survey for and manage invasive European frogbit in the Les Cheneaux Islands. First spotted on the islands in 2020, European frogbit is a Michigan Watch List invasive species that creates dense mats, altering fish and wildlife habitat, cloggings boat propellers, and limiting other recreational activities.
Start the day at 10:30 AM at the Hessel School where you will hear more information on European frogbit and how we can work together to prevent it's spread, then head out with professionals from the Three Shores CISMA to survey and manage European frogbit infestations. The Three Shores CISMA has some spare kayaks and waders available, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own whenever possible.
Hope to see you out on the waters!
