Invasive Species Field Technician
The Three Shores CISMA is seeking interested applicants to serve as Seasonal Invasive Species Technicians for the 2021 field season. The position will start in Mid-May and end in August with some flexibility on the end date. The position will average 40 hours per week. The work schedule will average 5 days per week including occasional weekends and overnights. Duties will consist of conducting invasive species management through manual, mechanical, and chemical removal, mapping the extent of invasive species using handheld GPS, maintaining field equipment, and assisting in outreach events as needed. This position will require the applicant to conduct fieldwork in all weather conditions. The chosen candidate should be able to lift and carry 50 pounds on a daily basis. If hired, applicants will be required to become a Michigan certified pesticide applicator and apply herbicide under the guidance of the Three Shores CISMA Coordinator. The employee will be supervised by the Invasive Species Program Coordinator under the direction of the Executive Director.
